sbtxt started in 2026 on one observation: the truest sentences never get said out loud.
everyone has them. they live under the conversation, in the pause before "i'm fine," in what you compose on the walk away and never send.

one sentence per shirt, nothing explained, nothing softened. if you know, you know. if you do not, it was not for you.
every conversation runs on two scripts: the one you say and the one you mean. the second one is better. it is funnier, it is more honest, and it never gets airtime, because saying it out loud costs something. sbtxt prints the second script.
even the name obeys the rule. subtext, with the vowels removed: it says less than it could, on purpose. saying less is the house style.
THE BACK OF THE SHIRT IS WHERE THE SUBTEXT LIVES.
you read it as the person walks away, which is exactly when people say the true thing.
the wearer never sees you read it. the front stays blank. nothing gets explained. the format is the meaning.
